ANDRES WITZKE

Hi! I'm an Amsterdam-based designer from Caracas.
I harness the power of technology to build a humane and sustainable future.

[Let's talk!]

how I work

I'm a Lead Product Designer with a focus on Hardware Products, Interaction and Experience Design. My approach blends business strategy, design thinking, and technical feasibility. I build both physical and digital prototypes as tools for exploration and user testing, helping define and refine the experience. Working closely with cross-functional teams, I help bring these ideas to life from concept to launch.

I'm currently working at Engineering Lab, a Dutch design agency. Before that, I was part of Lightyear, building the world's first long-range solar electric car. For more details, and about jet engines, medical devices, and my education - reach out for my CV.

projects

Concrete Rain (2023)

An analog weather forecaster that doesn't need a phone and works better than your grandpa's barometer.

Source: a Web-Radio Receiver (2022)

How an attempt to break free from the Spotify algorithm made me realize that nature should be a co-client in every project.

The Ventus Project (2020)

Inspired by the hourly church bell, this auditory display tool turns the weather forecast into sound.

Contact: a non-verbal communication tool (2020)

How can we communicate beyond the video call? This project highlights the importance of non-verbal cues while serving as a platform for future tangible interfaces.

Roinn: a shared vehicle (2019)

Focusing on the interaction between riders, this service is designed as an accessible experience while keeping users safe and comfortable.

AmpSusan (2020)

"Enchanted Objects", a term coined by David Rose, refers to products that are unobtrusive, useful and that respect our humanity. This piece of functional furniture aims to be just that.

The Visual Playlist (2017–2021)

I started a visual blog that combines music selection with original photography and digital art.
